Byambasuren Davaa

Byambasuren Davaa (Born: Davaagiin Byambasüren / Даваагийн Бямбасүрэн) is an international award-winning filmmaker from Mongolia. Her 2003 docudrama The Story of the Weeping Camel was honored with nearly two dozen awards and nominations, including Best Documentary at the 57th Directors Guild of America Awards, International Film Critics Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival, the White Camel Award at the Sahara International Film Festival, the Grand Prize Fiction and Human Rights at the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights, and was nominated for Best Documentary at the 77th Academy Awards.

Her most recent film, Veins of the World (trailer below) is a drama thriller has also been honored at several international film festivals, including Outstanding Children or Youth Film at the German Film Awards, Youth Jury - Fiction and Fiction Grand Award at the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights.
