First, Area Studies is an interdisciplinary field of research into a specific geographical area or culturally defined region. Disciplines can include social sciences, the humanities, political science, international affairs, language studies, and much more. Many U.S. universities may have schools or departments dedicated to Asian Studies.
With this in mind, Mongolian Studies may be viewed as a sub-field of Asian Studies with special focus on the interdisciplinary research of Mongolia and Mongolian Culture.
StudyMongolia.org is the online learning platform established by ACMS in 2020. Courses are archived and freely available online.
